Introduction
Traditional classroom learning, basically speaking, requires only
that the student show up, take notes, study and pass exams. In more
active classes, instructors require collaboration among students
and maybe a few group projects. But as adults, many of us have not
been able to participate in traditional classroom instruction due
to a number of barriers:
- family issues
- time constraints
- geographic limitations
Online distance learning breaks those barriers by allowing us to
access professional development courses at a time convenient for
us. It's an alternative to traditional classroom learning, but requires
a whole new set of skills. The purpose of this orientation course
is to provide you with resources so you can acquire those skills
and be a successful online learner.
